St Helen’s Alveston

About us

Alveston is a semi-rural community in which St Helen’s Church has an important role to play. There are strong links with St. Helen’s School, and many from the church contribute to collective worship, and school prayer spaces or volunteer as governors.

Worshipping God

We meet on a Sunday at 8 am for a Said Communion Service and an All Age Service at 10.30 am. The church is blessed with accomplished musicians who support our services with various musical styles. Our 10.30 am service includes age-related activities, and children are involved in the service as valued team members.

Growing in Faith

The Growing Faith Concept began in 2019 to promote partnership between the church, school and household to encourage and nurture Christian faith in those of all ages within those communities. Growing Faith is a key concept for engaging younger people in the home, at school and in church, and this is an exciting time as we develop through the Foundation to help more young people to encounter Jesus Christ.”

Serving Others

Many community events organised by the church provide opportunities for connecting with the community we serve. Some examples are the Art and Craft Exhibition, concerts, fundraising social events, Cream Teas, Annual Fete, and an occasional Repair Cafe throughout the year. We also make it our priority to give to and support other charities at home and abroad.

Coffee, cake, and chat every Tuesday from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. On the first Tuesday of each month, we raise funds for a different charity each month.
