MONDAY MOVIE – 4th November in St Mary’s, Olveston.
Our November film is a 2012 British comedy featuring a fine cast of stars, including Terence Stamp, Gemma Arterton, and Vanessa Redgrave.
Marion, an enthusiastic member of the local choir, is suffering from terminal cancer. Her husband, Arthur, who has always been disparaging about the choir and everything else, reluctantly agrees to take Marion’s place when she becomes too unwell to continue. The film explores men’s reluctance to show their feelings and devotion in the face of death. But yes, it is a comedy, though you would be well advised to bring a hanky.
Everyone welcome. Doors open at 7 pm, and the film starts at 7:30 prompt. There is no admission charge (although donations are always welcome); licensed bar, tea and coffee.
