Messy Church is proving very popular indeed. The latest one, 1st February, was attended by 14 children and an equal number of adults. Breakfast provided, probably more healthy than the one served at the Big Breakfast! Arts and crafts for Juniors always enthuse the children Perhaps the highlight of the morning was watching all the youngsters sitting in a semi circle and captivated by David Lloyd’s talk. Well done everyone.

WE REALLY DO NEED YOUR HELP. – Sat 18th July 2-4 pm
Can You Help Make Our Fête a Great Success?
Our Fête is fast approaching, and we still need more volunteers to help on the day. Every helping hand makes a difference and helps create a wonderful event for our church and local community.
A sign-up sheet will be available on the table, and we’ll also be making an appeal in church. If you can spare some time, please consider adding your name – whether it’s for an hour or the whole day, your support will be greatly appreciated. We are also now looking for donations for our stalls, including:
Bottles, Books, and Good-quality bric-a-brac. Please have a look around at home and see if there are any items you could donate. Your contributions help raise valuable funds and make our stalls more attractive and successful. We’ll be asking for donations of plants and cakes closer to the event.
Thank you for helping us make this year’s Fête a fantastic community occasion! Debbie Harries: oboe-debbie@live.co.uk

The FRIENDS of St. MARY’s financially support our church through the monthly lottery. Over the years, it has donated more than £125,000 by funding items such as church carpets, pew runners, handbells, bell ropes, etc. Currently, we give £5000 annually to the Church. If you want to join the lottery, just talk to Andy Phillips (andisp28@hotmail.com) or ask David Prothero (diprothero@talk21.com). The monthly cost can be as little as £2, and the ten lucky winners receive over £400 monthly between them. Don’t forget if you’re not in, you can’t win!

There is always some maintenance needing to be done in the church – and in the graveyard too. Recently a large section of stonewalling on the South side of the main graveyard collapsed. Trying to find a competent stonemason available at short notice to rebuild the wall has proved very difficult. However the same man who repaired the stone wall between Green Gates and the Old Vicarage has stepped forward to help us out and work should start within a month or so. At the same time he will be asked to carry out any essential preventive works on any other parts of the walling which might need attention.
